This is just plain wrong...Testosterone directly affects athletic ability.

Testosterone promotes muscle growth, but only if it's continuously present in the system. Once testosterone level are brought down and kept there (like required for trans women athletes to compete), the muscle is drastically reduced, even with training.

So athletes should be allowed to use "performance enhancing drugs" - including testosterone - because it makes no difference in their performance?

They are talking about permanent effects of testosterone, not the effects present only when in high level in the system. Muscle mass only stay high if testosterone in the system is also kept high. Once reduced for an extended period of time, muscle mass are reduced significantly

This clearly isn't true. Men who went through male puberty injecting themselves with estrogen doesn't take away the clear skeletal, heart, lung & muscle advantages they still have. It's a travesty that they should be allowed in women's sports
