Exactly! I saw a drag king do a performance from Phantom of the Opera with a puppet being the female role that kids would have loved.

Absolutely. As long as it's not over-sexualised (kids get enough of that from pop music and right-wing tabloids) it is eminently suitable for everyone at all times.

And drag isn't permanent. A kid can go through a phase or they can keep it up. It's not like they're changing who they are they're just dressing up.
