He will be judged on hos performance not his sexuality. I know many in Wakefield who don't give a toss about him being Muslim and/or gay.

Obviously should be judged on his performance. But firsts always generate headlines. I'd also say it's still pretty ballsy for him to publicise himself as such

He's probably going to get killed.

I think you’re right. He’s an Ahmadi Muslim. Mainstream Muslims see them as heretics and many would be happy to kill him. They don’t recognise him as a Muslim. His homosexuality makes him an even bigger target. Being high profile and identifiable makes it worse. A year tops.

I may be paranoid, but isn't that like putting a target on his back.

Don't need to know this, all that matters is he does the job he's elected to do.

As a gay man I am thrilled with this. It's a huge step forward. BUT, disappointed, but not surprised to see his manifesto offers nothing for Wakefield apart from Get Brexit Done.
