I'm glad you had that experience, but my parents were and still are the exact opposite. I started questioning myself when I was 12 or 13. My folks immediately shut it down and I was in the closet for a decade, hating myself. I'm 26 now and I'm not coming out to them again. 1/

I accepted and understood myself as a girl 3 years ago at 23. My closest supporters are 3 cousins and an aunt. One of my cousins dolled me up and I went out in public for the first time as Female on her 23rd birthday, 9/23/19. I'm so thankful, but have a long way to go. 2/
