I can’t relate to this. But from an outsider’s perspective, I think the time it has taken Athena to transition should be given to her family as well, if non-toxic. The past is your story, not your definition. She isn’t the only one transitioning to this new life. Room to grow.

Why would anyone tattoo their kid's name anyway? It's weird.

Special dates like a DOB I get, names are weird (unless its someone that's passed on). People can change names, trans or not, so it seems kinda pointless.
