In the Trust I worked in, rainbow lanyards were given to LGBT+ network members and supporters to signify to staff members and service users that we were safe to talk to regarding LGBT+ issues.

I know that NHS Staff should be partisan regarding these issues, but it's not always the case. A staff member who holds anti LGBT+ views would not be the best person to speak to about these things, even if they try their best to be fair and impartial.
