Language is a contract between the speaker and the listener. This breaks the contract by ignoring the role of the listener and letting the speaker make up new rules. It's back firing as the words lose their legitimacy.

Reminds me of a short story by Peter Bichsel “Ein Tisch ist ein Tisch” (a table is a table), of an old man trying to change the monotony of his life by swapping the names of things. He eventually ends up incapable of communicating with others, more isolated than ever.

I believe that people can label themselves however they want, but "nonbinary lesbian" really doesn't make sense to me. A lesbian is a woman who is attracted to other women; nonbinary people aren't women. Maybe they could develop a new term that describes their experience better?

They should probably just say “female attracted” and also not get upset when lesbians don’t want to date them because they want to date women. That’s kind of the point of sexuality.

"Non-binary"… and "lesbian?" It's been a while since I've brushed up on my intersectionality, but I'm pretty sure these two contradict each other.

If they're going to ignore science, they may as well ignore logic while they're at it...

This is what it's like when you create an education system that insists that words have no meaning – unless you don't like the words. Then they are worth ruining someone's life over.
