The problem is not Yaniv's questionable back story. The problem is self-ID, which is what has allowed Yaniv to bring this case. In Canadian law, Yaniv's body is a woman's body, because Yaniv says so. Yaniv could win.

Yes this a million times over. Yaniv is a distraction, but a useful one to make this point. My worry is that she's such an outlier the broader point about self ID will be missed under a narrative of "just one nutter". It's not just one nutter it's the subjectivisation of reality.

The trans community has collectively rebuked this person repeatedly. I suggest doing more research before posting stories about toxic people unaware of how toxic they are. This person does not represent any of us.
-
While there may be something worth discussing here, using this person specifically does more damage to our community. Please do not give people like this fame unless you're also going to expose their shameful history and separate them from the rest of us.

If I had to pick one website in the entire world that would defend this person it would have been Pink News.
-
Indeed. They have become very predicktable.

Yaniv is also a serial complainant and litigant, making a decent income from these poor people who settle rather than have to appear before the tribunal.
