PinkNews wrote a factual article about the incident based on several sources. This has been misrepresented as defending the trans person involved in the incident. Needless to say, we don’t condone violence or threatening behaviour towards anyone. We merely relayed the facts.

Okay, so clarify something for me: is an incident now only 'violent' when actual physical harm occurs? Because there have been some very creative understandings of the word 'violence' in circulation lately, and I don't know which definition you prefer.

We heard today that’ coercive control’ is now firmly a crime. I would argue the years of abuse JB has experienced is a social form of overt coercive control as its goal is to Silence GC Women!

The only reason Julie escaped unharmed was because three security guards intervened. Whether or not it was successful, a violent attack took place. Your victim-blaming and attempts at justifying this attack are a masterclass in how *not* to cover violence against women.

According to several sources, she was verbally attacked and then subject to an attempted physical attack, stopped only by the security guards. It doesn't become any less of an attack because the guy couldn't land any punches.
