I agree with him! Nobody should be given an acting job solely based on their sexual orientation. That is called discrimination. Acting is about playing a character and the role should go to the most talented performer who can play that character best!

Well Neil Patrick Harris, John Barrowman, Jim Parsons, Matt Bomer, Jane Lynch, Ricky Martin, Sarah Paulson, Wentworth Miller, Lily Tomlin, Wanda Sykes, Guillermo Diaz, Ellen Page, the list could go on and on, but they are all gay plus played straight and they are all doing okay

It matters when there's an uneven playing field. If LGBTQ actors aren't given an equal opportunity for the same roles then that's a problem. If it's all equal and all good then may the best actor win.

When equal opportunities are met, then we can reconsider focusing on "who's the best actor" but when discrimination still exists towards LGBT actors, then hell yea we need to demand that LGBT roles be solely for LGBT individuals. Until equality is met, that should be the norm

If gay actors want to kick off that only they should play gay roles, then god help them when they want to play straight roles and they can’t. Such nonsense and self-discrimination at a time when diversity of mind is so important

It shouldn't matter. However, intimate scenes are played more naturally, and convincingly with gay actors.

No it doesn’t!! It should be on how good an actor they are, how the portray the character!! Saying gay can only play gay is dangerous plus would makes the gay stereotype worse than it already is!!
