I think something's you just have to accept that they are called her or he.. I'm transgender and if I'm honest I'm not affended by calling a ship a her, I just wish I was called her more often... There are bigger issues

Perhaps time also to de-gender god to ‘it’ as well. And time to sort out number as well as gender - e.g. let’s get English back to calling teams, corporations and institutions ‘it’ instead of ‘they’.
