Doesn't take more than one trip to his subreddit to see that his audience are the people that would defend that scene to their grave... I'm far happier at the idea of them all leaving us the fuck alone than the idea that they would expect to be invited into trans discourse tbh

As a young man years ago I was transphobic & fearful of gay men. That was 1983 I was a US Marine. Now I’m 53 & a vicious advocate 4 the community to the point of being cuffed in the subway protecting someone. History, life at the time & people evolve it all has to be considered.

Id like to think Jim Carrey is woke enough not to play such a role these days. People have had a lot of learning to do. On one hand I agree with the article, keeping it up brings light to how awful the hate was. But it also may glorify that behavior further to current transphobes
