It saddens me that we have the cheek to shout about equal rights when WE ourselves are excluding specific groups. This is not the way to go and only serves to destroy our evolution within mainstream society.

I disagree, Brian. Given the historical issues lgbt+ people have had at the hands of police, a uniformed presence in marches is unwelcome. Non-uniformed/off duty LGBT+ officers are not banned from marches nor losing any rights or equal status by being excluded.

I do not think this is a smart decision. police are there to protect people and protect protesters and counter-protesters. even if you believe that police are as discectomy as you say they still need to be there to protect people from being hit by cars or vandalism or assault.
