And given the Telegraph headline this week I feel that trans people in the UK may now be reluctant to seek treatment as they are now likely to be misgendered and placed I the wrong sex ward

I usually just go into the one that is closest or has the shortest queue, that's a last resort though, i tend to hold it in till I'm home. Unless you plan on checking genitalia, good luck.
