#DoctorWho has had multiple LGBT+ characters since 2005, dozens of them including regulars. But it also always has a VERY high body count. This was one of more than a dozen on screen deaths in the episode.

Dr Who is quite progressive, maybe their storyline was not centralized on their sexuality. Isn't that the end goal?
-
Its good that LBGT+ characters stories aren't centralised on their sexuality (in fact its best that this is the case), but this incident isn't isolated, LGBT+ characters are constantly killed off (mostly extremely quickly), which is bad rep & enforces conservatives views.
