What was the sample?

About 4000 people who knew about the consultation which was publicised as concerning the LGBT community only. No mention of the cross-cutting issues with women's sex-based rights of course or the result would have been different. In all honesty, I'm surprised so many disagreed.

respondents to the GRA, maybe - no way that many "real" people on the street support this
-
They don't. Support for self-id in the population has fallen from a high of 18% to 13% now. 75% of women are opposed and that's with the debate just starting to cut through the "anyone who opposes self-id is a hateful transphobe" noise. Once women learn more, that number rises.
