Please note reference to London hosts the UK’s biggest Pride parade, though this year’s edition was tainted by an anti-trans group which hijacked the parade to lead it for most of its route. I think they mean lesbians here! Really!

When I came out in college almost 30 years ago, Queer Nation was big near me. Explicitly fighting for LGB civil rights. I and others would use 'queer' when political. but L/G/B in everyday life. Fastforward to last several years: I don't use the term 'Queer' anymore.

If the term *queer* now includes anyone who doesn't identify with stereotypical gender prescriptions, surely most of the 60 million people in Britain are queer?
