I get a bit cross with stuff like this. There are two genders. You are therefore male, female, neither, or identify as a mixture of the two. There is no third gender.

But gender is often presented as binary - male or female. Referring to “third gender” was a way to refute binary - which you just did by offering ‘neither’ or ‘a mixture of the two’ as 2 further options
