This majority is not a given—we have to work for it! The most reliable way to get people voting this year is to connect their lived experience to the policies that are hurting them and offer a credible alternative. This requires conversation and outreach, not ads. It's expensive!

Voters in contested districts don't care about DC drama. They care about health care. If they're outside the cities, they care about broadband. They loathe the role of corporate money in politics. We need to reach them through friends, neighbors, and civic leaders they trust

It costs about $2.50 to knock a door. It costs about $11 to print a yard sign. It costs around $1K/month to rent an office, and $2-3K/month to hire a full-time staff member. It costs $10-$40K to send out a mailing to voters you can't reach on foot.

The surest way to lose the House this fall is to follow the usual playbook, let the vipers' nest of media consultants burn vast amounts of money on TV ads and "digital" in October, and discover that despite all the drama, turnout was low and incumbents were all re-elected.

If you don't like the Great Slate candidates, or want to support people at the state level (wonderful!), then find your own. But make sure that you make direct financial donations, *to the candidates*, *before the primaries*. Otherwise your money will get eaten by wolves.

Why before the primaries? Does that mean you’re going to stop asking us for money after the primaries? I suspect not. :-)

Because there are great candidates who won't be around after the primaries if you don't give to them before the primaries.
