There was a tech bro talking about the social dynamics of conversation literally ten minutes ago, but now Google is demoing a robot voice that pretends to be human (including fake 'um's and 'ah's and calls small businesses to book appointments)

Google Duplex is a phone tree that calls YOU, and turns every phone call into a Turing test. The on-stage demos all involve deceiving a real human being into thinking they're in a conversation with a person.
