If people are relying on a 25-year-old piece of software, it's probably because it does the job well. But our answer to them is to replace it ASAP with something untried (and just as buggy)

There is special versions who are supported longer. Windows XP for embedded is still often used in ATMs and also still receives updates

Excel 97 was just great. So was 97 Access. I refuse to learn new Microsoft office products and switched to Google both out of nostalgia and ease of use and exasperation at their new pricing model.

About a year ago I took my kids to Chuck E Cheese. I saw a guy repairing one of the games. He rebooted the machine and I could not believe it was Windows 95. Such an easy target especially now that they linked the games with a card system. I tried to warn him, but didn’t listen.
