Probably would’ve been too expensive for the politicians beyond that. Trying to find solutions for the unemployed can be considered nearly free since the state would pay in any case.

It began on 1.1.2007 and runs for two years. 2000 unemployed, aged 25-58, receives 560€ monthly. It closely matches the current unemployment benefit. With this in mind, the UBI results due to be released in 2019 are maybe not as universal as some assume, but more unemp. related
