Hypothetical legal Q: If a President accused a former FBI Director of illegally leaking conversation memos that were both classified AND lies, wouldn't any investigation necessarily involve probing exactly which things were true? (putting aside OCA issue).

This is an optimal outcome for the country. To the extent that the Trump fiasco can dismantle some of the national security state apparatus on its way down (and I know we're not going to see eye to eye on this), we're all much better off.
