I spent two weeks traveling in Japan with my elderly mom, who has a little trouble with stairs. Every elevator at every subway station was functional. None of them smelled like urine. Each station had a working bathroom. I would like to see this in the Bay Area before I die.

If you think my dream of a urine-free BART is impossibly naive, but believe life extension, general AI or Mars colonization are worthy goals for the tech plutocracy to pursue, consider your priorities

The trouble is that this is not fixable on the municipal or state level. Other cities already are sending their homeless to SF. Ive been told that the problem in its current severity has existed since the 80s, when the Reagan administration cut funding for mental health programs.

You are wrong about homeless people coming to San Francisco in numbers. This is a widespread myth in support of a political agenda of inaction. 75% of SF homeless became homeless while living in SF, 90% are from Californiahttps://www.sfchronicle.com/bayarea/article/What-San-Franciscans-know-about-homeless-isn-t-7224018.php …

I’m down with bringing the Japanese or the Germans to come run California for a few years. Unfortunately I don’t yet know how u would get them to leave. Esp if they discover our weather or avocados

Wasn’t California run by an Austrian guy for a few years?

But you’ll need *their* tech to live long enough to see it!

I’m sure that some techbro has an idea about a $20k tech-enabled potted plant that tweets out when it has been defecated in. Just install 100 of them and… problem solved.
