Mark Zuckerberg having to answer question from the elected representatives of the American people is the first and only form of accountability he has faced. This makes the exercise important even if the substantive answers are somewhat frustrating. He needed to bend the knee.

Yes, he structured ownership so that he has the controlling vote. Google had a similar provision. This is one important way the Big 5 tech monopolies escape even the nominal level of accountability boards are supposed to provide.
