You're missing the point; the maximum legal contribution from company PACs is small. When Facebook gives a legislator as much as it's allowed to give, the signal is very clear.

That is a fair point, but its also considered a 'cost of doing business'-its not surprising that they give the max. I don't know Federal campaign finance laws, but a look at all the other companies that donate to Federal legislators might be insightful.

It's a form of institutionalized bribery. I'm hoping that by calling it out, we can at least shut it down in the tech sector. Apple leads in this regard; they have no corporate PAC and they do fine without it.
