There's no better example of how the tech economy is failing to connect with the real economy than SF, which has become a bedroom community and theme park for the tech elite, at the price of everybody else. We badly need a strong advocate for working people at the Federal level.

I say in complete sincerity that the biggest force for urban renewal in San Francisco is the Hayward Fault. Last time we had a major quake (Loma Prieta) is also the last time we saw significant positive change, like dismantling the Embarcadero Freeway.

That is a shameful thing to say in a city this wealthy. We need regional mass transit, a huge BART upgrade, and above all housing, housing, housing. And this has to be part of a regional plan with strong support from the state of California.

California is now the poorest state in the nation when you adjust for cost of living (the only definition of poverty that makes sense). Tech has brought great fortunes to thousands, and misery to millions in our state. We need a representative who will fight for those millions.
