Sorry, I didn't see this before my last reply. As someone involved in advocacy, it bothers me when people aren't given all the facts. It sets them up to look foolish. The onus is on Pinboard to get their information straight.

Again, that doesn't explain your leap to calling PB a liar, vs pointing out a mistake/sloppiness - which seems extreme. What is your involvement in advocacy exactly?

How about you show me a donation (any will do) made by facebook to a Democratic house candidate in calendar 2018?

Seems like a very reasonable request. I’m especially curious where the vehemence comes from (there aren’t a lot of fb defenders right now).

Hi John. Just to be clear, I think Facebook is the devil. I still have an account, but I use it maybe once every few months. I strongly suspect they broke campaign finance laws wrt in-kind contributions of staff time and access to company resources for Trump campaign, others.

With regard to any donation in 2018, its just not the way you look at campaign spending. It does not matter what year a contribution is made in, it matters what cycle. FB has already given to Dems (and GOP) for the 2018 primary election cycle.

Can you say FB "only gave to R's" in calendar yr 2018 thus far? You can, but its meaningless. Bc as recently as Dec. 2017, they gave to Dems including Adam Schiff, Tammy Baldwin, Jerry Nadler (all of whom are likely to tear FB a new one when the time comes, IMO).pic.twitter.com/ln7zq2vpk5

If the disbursement dates are really the dates on the checks, the most likely explanation for the 2 clusters of contribs- 12/18 & 2/28- is that in each case, a fundraising person handling those campaigns called the FB pac person to pitch events & FB bought a bunch of tickets.

Now, speaking of sufficient data, did I have enough info to legit infer that Pinboard was lying vs. just not understanding? No I did not. I tend to assume if I know how something works, everyone else understands it too.

You are not facing up to the fact that you are wrong. The disbursement dates for Facebook contributions are on FEC filings, which you presumably know how to look up. Again, show me any contribution from FB made to a Democratic House candidate after Jan 1, 2018 and I will retract.
