Apple has the right idea here by not running a corporate PAC.

All the Facebook PAC accomplishes is to give a handful of top execs and their "homemaker" partners a way to funnel cash to selected politicians in the name of a company that employs 25K people, serves two billion, and is credibly accused of swinging elections. Dumb, dumb, dumb

candidates/elected (and/or chief of staff) know every maxed-out donor's name by heart. they'll take a personal call from the maxed donors. it's not the money, it's a token of common interest. i've seen it working firsthand, over and over.

That makes sense to me. With corporate PACs, it's institutionalized bribery.
