Yesterday, Great Slate candidate Greg Edwards spoke to us very candidly about what it will take to win his primary in the Lehigh Valley this Maypic.twitter.com/rG5zomDJDr

The plan is to knock on the door of each likely voter three times before the primary. Experience shows if you can talk three times to a voter, they will come out for you. But each door knock (with a bilingual team) costs $2.50. For the 18K voters Edwards needs, that's $135,000
You might think, "why can't volunteers do this door knocking for free?" But to organize and train volunteers also takes paid staff and resources! The bottom line is, direct voter outreach is expensive because it gets results. Without your donations, Edwards could not do this.
People will vote for Edwards because he is a phenomenal candidate. You can't turn out voters for a dud. But people will only find out about his awesomeness if we can get the word out, and doing that takes feet on the ground. Those feet deserve a living wage for their work.
If we do nothing, Morganelli wins this primary—a ferociously anti-immigrant former prosecutor. So we're doing something. Every $75 you give Edwards is 10 more front porches he can reach. This is what field means, and this is what the Great Slate is fundinghttps://secure.actblue.com/donate/great_slate …
And here is a flavor of what knocking doors for Edwards looks like. The guy I went canvassing with works a night shift, and sacrificed a night of sleep to do it, back when the district was still "hopelessly red". People are so hungry for change.https://twitter.com/Pinboard/status/942952520770621440 …
