How much of past campaigning was targeted specifically at getting likely voters for other candidates to stay home? I have no problem calling *that* voter suppression, especially if it's done by dishonest means.

Plenty! Mailers lying about polling places, lying about positions, the date of the election.... Nowhere near as effective as modern voter suppression efforts ofc

Truth is a product of the commons. The internet was fracturing the commons long before Facebook came along. Facebook seems to be trying to nudge healthier communities, but I don't think anyone is rebuilding common spaces
