It's all so complex that I don't know what it will all mean, but the key point is that this is all greatly consequential, and unilaterally imposed. No simple way to muck around with social and informational interaction structures of two billion people. The crisis is structural.

The world also worked before cell phones or any phones. It even worked before writing. Try functioning without one now. Yes, I will use USPS to send written letters to people I communicate with some of whom are functionally illiterate, live in countries other than US, are mobile-only and I can't even manage to get them to use SMS (due to cost or technical issues). All good.https://twitter.com/Charlie_Corley/status/962009368697819137 …

Why hadn’t I thought about the existence of other methods? ::slaps forehead:: I guess I just don’t know that much about communication technology. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ https://twitter.com/brooksie4/status/962048517417111552 …
