It is! But it's a problem to worry about in May, not February. The Democrats have a history of treating competitive primaries as some kind of shameful, qi-life-force draining catastrophe to be avoided at all costs

It's truly a different situation in California than in anywhere else. And there's also no way to "resolve" the problem except for candidates to drop out. If that's going to happen, easier now. Also, overseas ballots must be mailed by April 21 under federal law.

With respect, some very lackluster candidates are using this phantom threat as a cudgel to try to push rivals out of the race before they can gain traction. The electoral situation in CA is unique, but the establishment Democratic loathing of contested primaries is universal
