Sorry, I mistook you for a student of history. Anyway, interesting to whom? Reactionaries prefer 1789, because lapse into dictatorship; radicals 1870 because first worker's uprising, republican values then firmly entrenched (Vichy apart) eg https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2014/12/22/fires-paris …
