For all of you who have donated to the Great Slate, I've heard back about some of the things that this money has already made possible. First and foremost, all of those campaigns have adopted the security best practices here. It warms a nerd's heart: https://techsolidarity.org/resources/congressional_howto.html …

The Spencer campaign (AR-02) was able to start paying staff who have worked free for six months(!), set up a Medicare For All seminar, and organize a large volunteer group training in preparation for massive field work.

The Holcombe campaign was able to hire a top-notch campaign manager, and a field manager in Chico (a large university town). They're organizing a major rally there timed with the Jan 20 women's march. They're also getting VAN access (the expensive database the Democrats sell)

The Golden campaign (ME-2) also hired a field director, and is opening a new field office for volunteers. They are also hiring a finance assistant to count the GIANT PILES OF MONEY coming in from tech workers like you.

The Hildebrandt campaign (NM-2) hired a communications director and is expanding their ground operation. There's bold talk of getting Mad's RV wrapped with her campaign logo so she can road trip around the district in it.

the King campaign (PA-16) has been able to hire a full-time field organizer in a second city, and open an office there. They're also able to cover some expenses for volunteers who have been doing work for free so far.

The bottom line is, your donations have not only sent a message to the DCCC, but given a huge boost to their field operations. Paid staff are the key to organizing and mobilizing the armies of volunteers that are coming out to help win these races.

Remember the Trump Show is just a distraction now; it's all about winning the midterms. Please keep donating to the people who are getting the work done, 300 days out. Let's keep them campaigning, not fundraising!https://secure.actblue.com/donate/great_slate …

I know JD Scholten still dreams of buying that Winnebago (made in his district) so he can spend the spring entirely on the road. Bottom line is: this money is getting spent usefully, not on TV ads or DC consultants. The experiment is under way!

Any accusations that I am in the pocket of Big Clipboard are scurrilous and have no basis in fact.
