Keep in mind that the main, and possibly only, reason the "Turbo" buttons existed was that certain copy protected software (the main spreadsheet of the day, lots of games) would not work at higher speeds. So Turbo for compiles, non-Turbo for spreadsheets.

We should bring back turbo buttons that you can press to enable branch prediction. Then just put a warning next to it that says ‘only turn this on if you aren’t doing anything secret’

The problem was not the turbo button, the original sin happened when intelligent people dropped their HP 28S beauties for an ugly thing that was awfully named PCs.
