As Larry Summers points out, we're in a demand crisis right now. Average everyday people can barely afford necessities, government policies at every level only redistribute wealth upwards, and all that capital has to go somewhere, so it goes into startups.

If we taxed the rich and gave that money to the poor, the rich would see skyrocketing returns on their remaining capital well in excess of what they lost, but rich people are just as stupid, short-sighted and self-serving as everyone else.
