Here is a sample DCCC Memorandum of Understanding with candidates. I don't know that it's genuine, but it matches what I've heard about these from other sources. Note particularly the demand that 75% of funds raised be spent on ads! https://cdn1.tytnetwork.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/12/DCCC-TYT.pdf …

It's been confirmed to me this document is genuine. So the Democratic Party is actively working to suppress the kind of grassroots work we are fighting tooth and nail for.

The Tech Solidarity Memorandum of Understanding with progressive canididates is three letters long: Win!

"...that focuses on our shared values as Democrats and holding Republicans accountable" How about running as reasonable fucking Americans.

Good on you for funding and building the left wing insurgency. We need this. Badly.

That statement feels like a stretch. 'Shared values' seems like an intentionally broad statement to allow wiggle room on those things and eliminate campaigning on things like say manditory vaginal ultrasounds
-
I agree that the wording is vague, but the intent is very much to keep political control over progressives

That's not what that says. It basically says no back-biting or smearing. Single-payer fits easily into shared values of wanting universal healthcare by whatever means is politically possible.

The message I take from those three points is “don’t rip each other up in the primary, because one of you needs to win.”

I appreciate your hard work lately, but I think you’re very much misreading this.

This is the Doug Jones playbook for red districts, and his campaign staff swears by the "shared values" strategy for winning. I don't know that the finance pieces make sense bc I don't have any reference points, but the messaging seems to be coming from that race.

(it's not for all candidates just the "majority maker" GOP districts)
