I made this table of the funds raised by the Republican incumbent in each of the six contested districts of the Great Slate, and have some observations to make:pic.twitter.com/rv3RuPL8Co

I made this table of the funds raised by the Republican incumbent in each of the six contested districts of the Great Slate, and have some observations to make:pic.twitter.com/rv3RuPL8Co
First is the most depressing one. Two of the Great Slate districts aren't even contested. So why is J. Random Bookmark out here trying to raise funds for them and get them resources and help? Why aren't we at full-out war in NM-2 and PA-15?
Second is, the FEC site is a fantastic resource, and the people who work on it and make it should be proud. District pages like this one are a good starting point for digging in:https://www.fec.gov/data/elections/house/IA/04/2018/ …
Third, some of these incumbents are so complacent they're not bothering to raise money. LaMalfa hides from his own constituents at town halls; Steve King is one of the most hated men in Congress. But they think they're untouchable
Fourth, and most important—these candidates have simply enormous resources, thanks to corporate PACs and right-wing donor networks. To beat them will take serious organization, done early and right, to give the people a voice in those districts.
We can't match Republican money. But they won't be able to match real, grassroots organizing for change in their districts, if we give it resources. We simply have to get enough money into those races to fight on even ground against PAC fortunes.
So please, take a moment and contribute to the Great Slate right now, before the year is out. Small or big, any contribution is a gesture of solidarity to candidates fighting hard in districts we can and must win!https://secure.actblue.com/donate/great_slate …
If you can afford to max out to these candidates—some of you can!—there is no better place to put your money right now to help make political change happen next year. If you can't give, then you know someone who can. Let's push to get big numbers by 12/31!
You have a crazy system there, where election success highly depends on money raised. How about some effort to change *that*?
to change the system, you have to win from within it. Everyone on that slate is committed to electoral finance reform
