Today I want to address a plea to anyone in tech who has ended up with a bunch of free money this year because of the insane rise in Bitcoin, or the tech boom. Take some of this windfall and use it strategically.

Remember that the 2018 House will shape the US census in 2020. Imagine what a revitalized Republican party that retained one-party rule would be able to do with that census, and what it would mean for our chances of a progressive party ever winning again.

Or give to charities like the Against Malaria Foundation, which save a life for every $5,500 donated. While you may claim to be fighting nationalism, check your own. Giving to highly effective international organizations is generally much more useful than giving to politicians.

last year I helped raise over 200K for Doctors Without Borders with this in mind. This year, I think the situation is different
