For these campaigns—ones that are running on a progressive message in rural areas—they have proven to be critical. To be sure, there are others that are similarly committed, but ignoring a whole group is contrary to winning in states Democrats have been repeatedly trounced.

The issue is the SV folks have a need to center themselves as the reason for every success. They are hard to work with and need to learn how to not be the center of every story
