Here's why this matters so much: what we saw in Alabama is that early money spent on field work and organizing wins elections. These are all places we can win, if we put the money in to organizing, not professional consultants or last-minute TV ads

But it also matters because of the realities of the ugly campaign finance system. Candidates who can raise $100K before December 31 are considered "viable" by national organizations, including the Democratic Party. The rest are not. It's arbitrary.

The system is badly broken. But like with gerrymandering, in order to fix the rules, you have to win within them. All of these candidates are close to hitting their $100K mark, thanks in large part to tech workers. Let's put them over the top

I rented out an entire Manhattan church.
@AODespair is carving time he doesn't have out of his production schedule. Four candidates are taking time from campaigning to fly in. Come give them a welcome they'll remember, and show them that we are behind them all the way!Show this thread -
I care so much about this stuff I even bought a Facebook ad. I GAVE FACEBOOK CASH AMERICAN MONEY. So please, spread the word to all the New Yorkers you know, and come in numbers on Saturday! https://techsolidarity.org/events/nyc_dec_16_fundraiser.html …
