I thought Pinboard had no management and no project plan for it's future development, in a proper anarchic hacker model?

to be “fair,” I’m pretty sure the main reason companies do unlimited is to avoid having to pay out vacation when people leave.
-
I have worked at places that had limited vacation and did not pay out unused vacay when people leave. May vary by jurisdiction.

I worked at a place that switched to unlimited and paid out the accumulated. Turns out it was to lower the cost of next quarter's layoffs.
