.@Pinboard I don't believe data is ever deleted on the Internet. Why would they just willingly give up good tracking data?

That's gotta be a new thing, I deleted my FB account over five years ago and I still get the creepy cross-site spamming described.

if it's sufficiently confusing to actually delete data, then effectively data cannot be deleted.

What about deleting most posts and messages? Would what you wrote hard delete or just when you fully delete the account?
