SCOTUS has actually been pretty strong on 1st Amendment. My biggest fear is emboldening private sanctions against unpopular speech/religion.

E.g., I doubt Trump could get away w/requiring Muslims to register w/ gov't. But his DoJ could turn a blind eye to civil rights violations.
