JWST is going to be revolutionary and awesome but its not a scalable exploration approach imo I think we would be better off with 30 Hubbles using modern image sensors (produced and launched at a reasonable cost) Heck those could even orchestrate into a single array

Hubble costs roughly the same as JWST (within a factor of 2-3). It's the delays that really hurt the latter, and a lot of that had to do with unrealistic program management.
