Weird. The actual climate experts would says it’s both excess drought caused by temperature increases as well as more intense storms caused by temperature increases. No politics needed.

Doesn't feel like a particularly unusual storm -- we get these from time to time; you quote a weather expert calling it "textbook". Probably not a sign either way. Welcome respite unless you live downslope from a burn scar.

High precipitation after intense drought = massive erosion. A storm is not what one wants after a drought.

California gets a lot of its water from snowpack. The more a storm can build that up, the more benefit it gives.
