I think the hardest thing for fellow Democrats to accept here may be the idea that they're wealthy in the eyes of CD2 Mainers, even as they struggle with the high cost of city living in states like New Jersey or Massachusetts. That's a deep cultural divide in the Democratic party

I just still don’t get why we can’t tell people “we’re not gonna worry about millionaires getting a few hundred dollars here and there, we’re just gonna get it back by taxing them more and making your paperwork simpler.”

Because that sounds much shadier to a voter than just not giving that money to the rich in the first place.
