People trying to make the case to regulators in 2021 that Facebook's manipulation-for-hire business model is irredeemable are in the same position as anti-tobacco crusaders who had to testify back when there was an ashtray in front of every congressman.

I agree with the idea that we should be hearing from more people but it's pretty clear to me that (1) her understanding of FB accelerated near the end of her time, (2) she did try to affect change internally to move them toward a more tolerable business model before going public.

I'm sure there's people at Philip-Morris and Raytheon who saw the light a few years into their careers, but in general you don't want former managers at these companies driving the regulatory agenda, for exactly the same reason as here.
