You’re understanding of the cuisine is more nuanced than I would have given you credit for. Sri Lankan Tamil food isn’t quite the same as that from Tamil Nadu (its drier and more spicy) but I get what you mean. I’m not sure it would be called Sinhalese food either but its close

Those two dishes I mentioned are Sri Lankan. I think Sri Lankan food maybe has more overlap with food you find in Kerela. More sea food and coconut milk in everything, maybe.
